Cleveland Browns fans left split on QB Jameis Winston’s ‘rehearsed’ pregame interview

In a bizarre pregame interview, Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston appeared fully locked in against the division rival Baltimore Ravens.

It was Winston’s first start as a member of the Browns ever since quarterback Deshaun Watson went down with an Achilles tear.

Speaking to CBS reporter Amanda Balionis, Winston gave answers that were brief and even appeared to be rehearsed.

Balionis began the interview by asking the quarterback what he expected from himself in his first start.

‘This is the day that the Lord has made; I will be glad and rejoice in it,’ Winston said while looking straight into the camera.

After a brief silence, Balionis asked about the belief that the Browns had that they could turn their season around with that game against the Ravens.

‘Unwavering faith. Ultimate belief. Depending on the Lord. That’s all we got,’ Winston replied, looking into the camera again.

Balionis then asked a third question, leading to Winston giving the exact same response as the question before it.

The video divided fans, with some finding it weird while others felt hyped up by the words of inspiration from their quarterback.

‘God said confuse the enemy and Jameis always does just that,’ wrote one Twitter user, while another said, ‘I feel like Jameis Winston stands in the mirror and rehearses these interview responses. They are too good.’

‘After that first line, I knew it was so over for Baltimore,’ posted another.

Another said, ‘Convinced Jameis thinks he’s living in a movie,’ while a different user said, ‘This might be the greatest on field interview ever.’

‘You see this and you immediately know we’re going for a ride,’ read another post.

Starting Winston proved to be great luck for the Browns, as they snapped a five game losing streak to beat the Ravens 29-24 at home.

Winston completed 27-of-41 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns to lead Cleveland to its second win of the campaign.

The Browns will hope that their victory was not a fluke as they host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
