Hall of Fame left tackle Joe Thomas recently called the 2-7 Cleveland Browns “beyond frustrating.”
Thomas, who played 10,363 consecutive snaps for the Browns during his 11-year playing career, is likely rolling his eyes at the latest news out of Cleveland.
On Monday, November 11, Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. admitted that he “made a business decision not to play” against Baltimore in Week 8 because “I was injured.” The 2020 first-round pick hyperextended his left knee early in the Browns’ Week 7 loss to Cincinnati.
“Then, after the Browns upset the Ravens with [Dawand] Jones at left tackle, Wills said coach Kevin Stefanski told him that he would no longer start but instead would serve as a’swing’ tackle,” according to ESPN. “He backed up both Jones and right tackle Jack Conklin for the Nov. 3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.”
“It was pretty shocking,” Wills Jr. said on Monday, as per Mary Kay Cabot, adding that he “received the news” of his demotion the week after the Browns’ 29-24 upset of the Ravens on Oct. 27.
