It was a busy summer transfer window for Leeds United, with eight incoming transfers and 21 players leaving the club this summer.
The Whites were able to bring in a whopping reported £140 million from players sales, lining their coffers for the upcoming campaign. After four games, Daniel Farke’s side sits in the play-offs with two wins and two draws from those games.
An unbeaten start to the season has quashed any immediate concerns about the departures of key players, but what do Leeds fans think of the recent window? Leeds Live asked supporters for their views in our recent survey and it makes for interesting reading.
We asked if supporters felt the club should have invested more of the money they earned from player sales, with 54 per cent of participants saying yes, 28 per cent of supporters believe it should be kept for January, while 12 per cent of supporters replied no. A further six per cent believe the money should be saved for the summer.
The vast majority of supporters were content with the recent window, with 55 per cent of votes selecting that option when asked how happy they were with the transfer window. 27 per cent of those who voted said they weren’t happy, with 18 per cent of voters happy.
Manor Solomon was the signing that supporters were most excited by, with a huge majority of the votes – 52 per cent in his favour when asked who fans were looking forward to seeing the most.
Ao Tanaka was in second place with 25 per cent of votes, with Largie Ramazani in third with 19 per cent. Isaac Schmidt took two per cent of the votes, with Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle both on one per cent.
With attention now shifting onto the January transfer market, supporters have sent a clear message to the board regarding the area of the squad they should improve. The departure of Georginio Rutter frees up the number ten spot, with Brenden Aaronson the player currently in that role.
A whopping 75 per cent of voters want to see the Whites bring in a number ten in the winter window, while the remaining 25 per cent believe Leeds have enough cover in that area of the pitch.
