The Bruins celebrated their centennial game on Sunday, capping off months worth of festivities with a victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
Boston went all out for the festivities, honoring milestone moments over the last few months by inviting legendary players back for pregame ceremonies, debuting specialty uniforms, and unveiling a new monument around TD Garden.
The Patriots helped celebrate Sunday, calling on members of the roster to rock those commemorative uniforms for their arrival before a matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
Drake Maye represented David Pastrnak.
Marcus Jones and David Andrews represented Brad Marchand.
Keion White represented Charlie McAvoy, but, in an effort of honesty, admitted following the game that he had no clue about the significance of his new threads.
White doesn’t watch sports.
“I’m just not a big sports watcher, unless we’re talking basketball or football,” White told NESN.com. “I watch the NFL because it’s my job. I like going to the Celtics because I used to play basketball, but I don’t watch the other ones because if I didn’t play it, I don’t understand it.”
White viewed his pregame outfit as a favor to the team’s social media crew, who supplied him with the threads earlier in the week. It’s not like he has anything against the B’s, he just hasn’t been afforded the opportunity to check out any games throughout his two seasons in Foxboro, Mass.
“I’ve never been,” White said. “I’d go to one, for sure.”
The Bruins might have to make that happen, and perhaps supplying him with more merchandise could get the job done.
